Hi friends! My name is Wendi Hord and I am the librarian here at Columbia. I absolutely love getting to instill the joy of reading with your amazing children! We spend our library time having fun and learning about all the different ways literacy is integrated into our lives. I hope to use the library to help guide students to discover their passions. Books can take us anywhere and teach us anything! I also get to teach the technology classes. We are working on becoming responsible digital citizens in our ever increasing digital world. 

Throughout high school and college I worked at the Marion Public Library in Marion, Ohio. After graduating from The Ohio State University with both my bachelor's and master's degrees in Early Elementary Education, I taught prekindergarten for a few years before opening an home daycare. My family recently moved to Mount Vernon and we couldn't be happier here. My husband, Kevin, and I have two children who attend here at Columbia. Kiley is a fifth grader and you may recognize her from the morning announcements. We also have Brice who is in second grade. I am excited to see what this year has in store!
