 Get Plugged In
Mount Vernon High School takes great pride in the academic and cocurricular/extracurricular activities offered to students.  While the ultimate goal is for our student body to graduate within four years, meeting the requirements by the local board of education as well as the state, we want students to get plugged into our school community.  We want students to learn to co-exist in a building with many different attitudes, beliefs and experiences.  We will work with students to take ownership in their education, conduct and preparation for the next chapter in life.  We are fortunate for our community partnerships and welcome the engagement in the lives of our student body.  We look forward to serving the youth of our community.

Student holding Academic Letter and certificate. Academic Points Award Ceremony
Mount Vernon High School conducted the Academic Points Award Ceremony at the MVNU R.R. Hodges Chapel Thursday evening.  223 students were recognized for their pursuit of excellence in academics and balancing the many different demands on their lives at this stage of their lives.  Read More... for list of student academic award winners. 
MVHS Schedule Adjustment for 2019-20
In an effort to better serve our students academically as well as provide greater flexibility in course choices during the day, we will be altering our schedule to align with the start/end times of the Middle School as well as move our HIVE period for academic interventions and enrichment into the middle of the scheduled day.
