Third Grade Music

Third Grade students sing folk songs from a variety of cultures, dance, play games and develop their ability to read, write and perform music notation using quarter, eighth and sixteenth notes.  They learn to read music on the staff and learn the meaning of musical terms such as meter, time signature, forte, piano, allegro and largo. Students continue to develop the ability to sing in tune while accompanying themselves on classroom instruments like drums and xylophones.  They perform in a winter concert held in December.
