MVHS students Josephine Noonan, Victoria Baker, Mehmet Schubel, Charles Mayville, and Herbie Meyer have been recognized for their achievement in the 2019 National Merit Scholarship Program.
Herbie Meyer has joined an elite group of students nationwide as one of 16,000 students designated as a semi-finalist in the National Merit Scholarship Program. Herbie will have the opportunity to compete for the possibility of earning one of 7,500 scholarships totaling more than $32 million that will be awarded this coming spring.
Victoria, Charles, Josephine, and Mehmet are included in the representation of 34,000 students throughout the nation being recognized as Commended Students for their exceptional academic promise. Commended Students placed among the top 50,000 scorers of more than 1.6 million students who entered the 2019 competition by taking the 2017 preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
