Mount Vernon City Schools Food Service summer lunch program started June 2 and will be serving lunches Monday through Friday from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm. Lunch locations will be Dan Emmett, Pleasant Street, Wiggin Street, The Learning Center, and Mount Vernon High School. For the past 20 years, MVCSD food service staff has had the pleasure of providing nutritious lunches to the children of Mount Vernon.
MVCSD serves all children, regardless of need, between the ages of 18 months and 18 years of age We can serve developmentally disabled kids up to age 22, if they are enrolled in a school program during the school year.
The children’s menu includes a choice of cold deli sandwiches, yogurt, string cheese or peanut butter sandwiches. Other healthy choices include fresh vegetables and fruit, such as baby carrots, celery sticks, apples, oranges, and bananas are available daily along with choice of juice or milk with each meal.
