Second Nine Weeks Learning Mode Survey

Mount Vernon City Schools would greatly appreciate your time in completing a short survey. The purpose of this survey is to provide student, staff and parental input on what learning mode you would prefer the district operate under during the second nine week grading period.

  • Traditional (Green) - In Person learning 5 days per week
  • Hybrid (Yellow) - In Person learning 2 days per week ; 3 days Online

To answer the questions, please consider the following Information: The district recently completed a 'Thought Exchange' where the essential question was: “What are some important things to consider as we decide what learning mode (Traditional, Hybrid, Remote) we will operate under during the second nine weeks?” We were pleased to see that 704 thoughts were shared with participants rating each thought. While not all of the thoughts addressed the basic question, we are appreciative to all who participated. The results page is interactive and is posted on the district website. Using the factors shared from the 'Thought Exchange' we have developed a learning mode comparison graphic for your review. Both options have their advantages and disadvantages.

Learning Mode Comparison between Traditional and Hybrid.

The Mount Vernon City School Board had a lengthy discussion at its September board meeting related to the various learning modes for the second nine weeks.  The Board Meeting video is posted on the district website.

Knox County is "Yellow" on the statewide Covid Alert Map.  MVCSD has had two positive student cases and three recovered staff cases at this point.  The City of Mount Vernon has 10 active Covid cases.

Please select the appropriate survey link and share your preferred learning mode based upon the information provided and your current experiences.
