Beshears and Jackson Recognized For Outstanding Achievement

On March 7, 2019 two Mount Vernon City School students were honored at the State Support Team Region 7 Outstanding Achievement Awards Banquet.   The event was hosted by the Mid-Ohio Education Service Center in Mansfield, and was held to recognize outstanding students and educators in special education from seventeen public school districts.Hope holding her Outstanding Achievement Award.

Hope Beshears was nominated by intervention specialist Chris Smith.   She is a sixth grade student at the Mount Vernon Middle School.  The nomination was based on her strong work ethic and determination, and also celebrated her finish in the 2018-19 Mount Vernon Middle School Spelling Bee as runner-up.

Billy Jackson, a Mount Vernon High School senior at the Knox County Career Center, was nominated by Jeremy Hubbard.   His nomination shared Billy's exemplary growth in confidence and independence, and praised him for being such a hard worker and good friend.Billy holding his Outstanding Achievement Award.

Congratulations to Hope and Billy on the accomplishments made this year.   The district was honored to celebrate with them, and their families, at this year's banquet.
