The Mount Vernon FFA placed 4th in the Knox County Forestry Contest on September 10. Students had to correctly identify the species of ten different trees. They were also judged on their calculation of the board foot volume and market value determination. The top three individual scores that determined team placing were: first place, Alyse Ladig, second place, Anna Patterson, and Erin Combs with third. The Forestry Contest was hosted in Danville by Garrett and Linda Swendal.
