Superintendent Bill Seder congratulates Gary Keller, High School CBI teacher on his years of service. May Board of Education Meeting
The Mount Vernon Board of Education recognized the following 2019 retirees during the May meeting held at Twin Oak Elementary School: Callia Ahlbeck, Pleasant Street First Grade Teacher; Jennifer Highnam, District Preschool Itinerant Teacher; Gary Keller, High School CBI Teacher;  Gordy Sargent, Twin Oak and Columbia Elementary Custodian.  Cheri Murphy, Middle School Social Studies Teacher; Tammy Orsborn, Middle School Science Teacher; and Carol Szerlip, Assistant to the School Psychologists, are also retiring at the end of the school year. Fifth Grade Outdoor Education Camp
We were blessed with a great week of camp from both a weather perspective and the students and staff were great.  Thanks to MV Elementary Faculty, MVHS senior student volunteer counselors, all Elementary PTOs and special thank you to the Ariel Foundation for their continued support of the District Fifth Grade Outdoor Education Camp.  Video 11 m 52 s.

Mount Vernon High School conducted the Academic Points Award Ceremony at the MVNU R.R. Hodges Chapel Thursday evening.  223 students were recognized for their pursuit of excellence in academics and balancing the many different demands on their lives at this stage of their lives.  Read More... for list of student academic award winners.

Ohio Department of Medicaid Logo Ohio Medicaid School Program Annual Notice
The Mt Vernon City School District has the opportunity to receive  Federal Medicaid dollars through a program called the Ohio Medicaid  School Program (MSP). Through this program, school districts can receive  Medicaid dollars for services such as Speech, Audiology, Physical  Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Nursing, Psychology, Counseling, and  Social Work services.  Read More... for program details.
