This is my sixth year as a Gifted Intervention Specialist in the Mount Vernon City School District. I graduated from the University of Toledo with a BS and Master's in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. In addition, I have a Gifted Endorsement from the University of Cincinnati.
My previous teaching experiences include being a substitute teacher for grades K-8 in Ohio and Michigan. During that time, I was a long-term substitute teacher for grades 2nd, 3rd. and 6th. After my subbing experiences, I taught first grade for two years at Jackman Elementary in Toledo, Ohio. I also have experience teaching preschool students for six years at the YMCA Preschool in Mount Vernon, Ohio. Lastly, I worked as a Gifted Intervention Specialist at East Knox Elementary in Howard, Ohio.
I am currently working at Wiggin Street, East Elementary, and Dan Emmett. I have been married for nineteen years and have three children, two sons and a daughter. My younger son is a sixth grader and older son an eighth grader at Mount Vernon Middle School. My daughter is a sophomore at Mount Vernon High School. We have two miniature schnauzers named Woody and Urban. We have lived in Howard, Ohio for eleven years.
I really enjoy working in the Mount Vernon City School District! I look forward to a great year working with your children and with the wonderful Mount Vernon staff around me!
