Pleasant Street Elementary

Excellence In Education

Jacquelyn Hatch-Miller

Mrs. Hatch-Miller

love working with students and collaborating with teachers and families at Pleasant Street Elementary School! I taught first grade for five years and third grade for five years. Now I am in my seventh year of teaching Title 1. You may hear the Title 1 program at Pleasant Street referred to as "Title Wave." Pleasant Street students often inspire me when they work hard toward a goal, overcome challenges, and grow as a learner and as a person. One of the best parts of my job is getting to interact with students of all ages.

Education
I received a Bachelor of Arts from Ohio Wesleyan University in 2006, Master of Arts from Mount Vernon Nazarene University in 2009, and Reading Endorsement from Mount Vernon Nazarene University in 2012.

Interests
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, working on my family's orchard, playing church softball, and supporting community theater. I loved growing up in Utica, and now I love living in Knox County with my husband and 3.5 children.

Fun fact
Many students ask me if a peacock is my favorite animal. While it's certainly one of my favorite animals, I just thought it'd be a fun classroom theme, with its showy personality and vibrant colors!
