What is the "Digital Learning Initiative"?
Beginning with the 2016-2017 school year, each student at Mount Vernon High School will either be issued a Chromebook or be permitted to bring their own device for use throughout the school day.  The initiative is sometimes described as "1:1" because the goal is to provide one device for every one student.  Previously, computer access was limited to lab space and carts of devices that had to be signed out.  With textbooks and other curriculum materials transitioning to digital format, the 1:1 initiative will help literally lighten students' loads as they move about the building.  It will also enable teachers to expand on the variety and type of learning activities in the classroom.
Why the Digital Learning Initiative?
