Coach Rob Fetters,  Mary Harris, Christian Knox, Luke Trese, Malcolm McDonnell, Jacob Lebold with Licking County Quiz Bowl League Trophy In The Know Team Places Second
The In The Know academic quiz bowl team team of Luke Trese, Mary Harris, Jacob Lebold, Malcolm McDonnell, and Christian Knox defeated teams from Millersport, Lakewood, Northridge, Watkins, Licking Heights, Utica, Johnstown, and Licking Valley. Their only loss was to Centerburg that was very close throughout the entire match, earning Mount Vernon 2nd place overall in the Licking County Quiz Bowl League.

After several years of ‘mild’ winter weather, we currently find ourselves in the midst of a challenging winter where the district has already used five calamity days or its hourly equivalent.  The Mount Vernon City School Board, administration, and staff values ongoing instruction and supports the limited use of calamity days.  Click this link to read the letter to parents from Superintendent William Seder explaining the Calamity Day process. 
High School Debate Team with State Qualifier Plaques Yellow Jackets Qualify Record Number to State Tournament
The MVHS Speech and Debate Team have qualified a record 13 students to  the Ohio Speech and Debate Association’s State Finals held in Sylvania  on March 2-3.  “I knew more students would qualify than usual, but 13 is really an accomplishment. MVHS Offers Physical Education Waiver
MVHS will now offer a Physical Education Waiver for those students  participating in interscholastic sports, marching band and cheerleading.   Please read the following FAQ for details.  This is available  beginning in the fall of 2018 and offered to those students in the  graduating classes of 2020 and beyond.   MVHS Physcial Education Waiver
